The Basketry opened its doors in 1995 under founder Kristi Brocato, built on a simple belief: thoughtful gifts strengthen both personal and business relationships. Nearly three decades later, that belief still shapes how we work — now carried forward by the Phina team as part of a shared commitment to the region's gifting community.
In May 2023, founder Kristi Brocato passed the business to Jenny McGuinness, Jessica Woodward, and Linda Dalton — the mother-daughter team behind Phina.
Phina is a gift retailer with home decor, accessories, jewelry, and children's items across three New Orleans-area locations. Phina and The Basketry share the same philosophy on what good gifting looks like, which is why we were honored to carry this business forward — and why the two brands continue to grow together as sister stores.
The Basketry specializes in beautifully curated, custom gift boxes and baskets for businesses and individuals alike. Whether it's a client or an employee, a close friend or a family member, a quiet thank-you or a milestone celebration — our gifting experts help you select the right gift and see it through, from sourcing to delivery.
Alongside our production space and in-house shipping department, The Basketry operates a 4,000 square foot retail storefront in Luling, Louisiana. Visitors can shop home decor, jewelry, baby items, accessories, and apparel, or work directly with our team to build a custom box in store.
